I recently had the pleasure of photographing Rachel Freedman’s bat mitzvah at the beautiful Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach. The event was designed and coordinated by Mindy Weiss Events, who transformed the venue into an elegant yet modern underwater theme that catered to both the young and older generations present. It was the perfect mix of age groups and I had a great time photographing Rachel’s family as they let loose alongside her energetic friends. Up Next…Our “highlights” video and slide show!
Rachel looking quite the grown-up as she gets glammed up at the Pelican Hill Spa for her party:

Before the festivities, the ceremony was at the Congregation Shir Ha-Maalot in Irvine:

The boys had fun too.

Mr. Freedman was hilarious!

So it rained that day and we wanted to shoot on the grounds of Pelican Hill, but here’s Rachel Rockin it for the camera! Her Dress is amazing!

Rachel stuck it out in the cold so we could create some images like these, I don’t think she’ll regret it seeing how good she looks here!

I love how Rachel’s dress matched the theme!

Rachel making her grand entrance

Pelican Hills ballroom looked off the charts that night! This is perfectly elegant and yet fun thanks to Mindy Weiss!

I Love to see kids at this age rockin it! I think the kid in me wants to put my camera down and rock out with them. I love this photo! Let’s call it “Mitzvah Mayhem”

Who said a bat mitzvah couldn’t be fun for the adults? Check out Rachel’s parents, Jeanette and Michael, taking over the stage!

Being a former lead singer of a band, I’m quite the self-proclaimed critic for live music events
. The James Gang Encore band BLEW ME AWAY (they totally nailed a cover of ACDC’s ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’)! They were hands down the most incredible live band and MC I’ve ever seen!
Congratulations, Rachel!
In 2003 I spent 2 weeks in Ireland Touring with my band PAX217. Yes, I am the guy with dreadlocks and no I’m not a hippie! (Well maybe a little bit at heart). We played in Cork & then traveled around for a week. Alli and I saw Coldplay and Damien Rice at a festival and that was quite the Irish experience. These photos were all taken on a crummy 3.1 meagpixel camera because I had left my Canon Eos 3 film camera and 20 rolls of Fuji slide film in the states! I was uber sad about that. Hope you enjoy the photos, a little bit of my past and Happy St. Patrick’s day.
Saw this across the street while drinking an amazing espresso at a cafe. I love Vespas.

It’s not so easy to find your destination in Ireland. There was a street to the right and a street to the left, with just 17 signs to choose from.

Rockin out with a few thousand Irish kids at the Cork City hall building (that’s me singing!)

I was diligently at work when I heard a large crash, looked out the studio window and well…here it is. The tree that could, no more. Good news, A little more view of the pacific from Tosti Studios! Thanks to our Laguna Beach public works crew who cut that sucker down and cleared the roads quick. This has been a Tosti news update.

Check out this months issue of Newport Beach Magazine! Tosti Studios had the honor of shooting another fashion spread for them. Click here to see the entire spread.

Here’s a little video of the free Halloween photo party held at Tosti Studios. It was a good time, Buddy the Elf showed up! Buddy was so excited to be there. After a few sips of XS energy drink he stared buzzin’ and was out waving to those passing by on PCH. It was nice of him to drop into town well before the Christmas holiday season. Call me biased but my vote for best costume goes to Princess Leia and lil’ Yoda. Watch the video!

I’ve known Jen for years and it was such an honor to photograph her wedding. Both Jen & Brad are really sweet and full of joy. The wedding was held at the church I grew up in, Mission Hills Community Church. That alone made it special. Dr. Mike Beals, the pastor, led an incredibly warm and inspiring ceremony, something that I think is often overlooked in the world of weddings. The reception was held at the www.belltowerfoundation.org. I had the pleasure of working with Gabriel Ryan, who shot with me as 2nd photographer. We had a great time working together! Great coordinating by In The Now Weddings. The bridal party was awesome, lots of great friendships made for some great images. Here is a little gallery of some of my favorites (look out for the shot of Gabriel and I). Thanks again, blessings to you Jen and Brad!
