As I pulled up to my house after having just shot the Circle family, I began to feel some stomach pain. (Don’t worry Circle’s it’s not your fault!) I ended up at the hospital that night after the shoot and had my appendix removed! Luckily, I was able to squeeze this shoot in just before! The Circles’ are a family that I’ve worked with for several years and I genuinely love them. Kyle, (son) used to manage one of my friend’s bands and we’ve known each other since my PAX217 (former band) days. The entire shoot of the Circle Family was so much fun. They weren’t stressed, they’re sweet to each other, patient, and Mom (Jan) comes prepared with waters and snacks for the whole fam! Take a look at a few pictures I took of them: They are a family that gives me hope. I hope to provide for my kids in the ways that Doug and Jan have, it’s brilliant.

Jan & Doug, the heads of the household. I am so inspired by how their passion continues! They are so in love with each other and seriously, I felt like I was doing an engagement photoshoot of them! May you two have many, many more years of love and happiness to come.

Awww Kaitlyn, isn’t she adorable??

The beautiful Circle ladies.

Brendan with his fiancée, Ashtyn! Congratulations on your engagement!

Thank you for having me photograph your beautiful family together and letting me catch a glimpse into your “circle”!
Last weekend I was at the Festival of Brides at the Four Seasons Westlake Village. Here is a little offer for the brides who came the show!
Bridal Show Thank You Offer! from David Tosti on Vimeo.
Last Sunday the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel hosted the Festival of Brides, where Tosti Studios made our first ever debut at a bridal show. We teamed up with Fleur de Lis Events and Ice Bulb and together the three of us took center stage (literally!) in the event ballroom. Fleur de Lis Events set up an impeccably-styled arrangement for us while Ice Bulb wow-ed all of the bride-to-be’s with an amazingly crafted ice curtain that suspended behind our booth. Needless to say, we were turning heads left and right at the show! It was a great experience and we had a lot of fun meeting brides and connecting with the other awesome vendors. Here are some pictures from the show:

I spent the day with the wonderful Jenny Lee, her lil dogs, Biance’ and BB, and her girls (staff) at their flagship store in Crystal Cove. I had the opportunity to meet some really genuine, sweet brides. Honestly, it was if they were the “good” force fighting the evil of the bridezilla’s out there. There is a FREE engagement shoot drawing going on for the brides, I’ll be announcing the winner soon. Check out a few images here, I really had fun with these, especially the reflection images. If you know anyone looking for a wedding dress, this is the SPOT! We’ll be there tomorrow 11am-4pm. Join us!

I’ve had great reviews from those who have taken this beginner digital photography class and I’m excited to host another this coming January. I like these classes to be intimate, so we have a limit of 7 students per class. The first class times are listed in the flyer here below. Once we need to move to a second class, we’ll email or call those who are interested and we’ll find out what works best for those enrolling. This first class begins at 3pm on January 17th (Sundays) for 3 consecutive weeks. This is always a fun class and a great way to meet other local photographers. Start 2010 off with something to inspire your photography aspirations, enroll in TOSTI 101 today! Call the studio to enroll yourself or someone else as a holiday gift!

I’ve been able to show some great emerging artists this past year at my studio gallery and James and Orion prove to be “those artists.” As a photographer, I have had an interest in documenting those who have joined with me in presenting their work at the gallery. I recently spent some time interviewing them on their exhibit currently showing called “Futureproof,” and thought I would put this video out to share a bit more of who they are. The sense of community that you might feel amongst the artists has made a mark here in Laguna. I love this. I’m inspired by how these two continue in dialogue about their work to push each other to excellence.
“Futureproof” is the next step in progression for them as friends and artists. In this video, James & Orion, alumni from LCAD share a bit about their new series of paintings. Join us for the closing reception Saturday November 21st 7-10pm! Check out tostistudiosgallery.com for more information.

Here it is, once again for your photographic learning pleasure…TOSTI 101. This is a digital photography class for the beginner who has purchased a digital SLR (single lens reflex, = you can interchange lenses). The class meets for 3 consecutive weeks at TOSTI STUDIOS. We spend time learning inside and outside at main beach, here in Laguna. The class is small, so you’ll be sure to have all the attention you need to get you reassured that you can be an even better photographer!
With thousands and thousands of digital SLR’s purchased every month, someone you know needs help and I am here, ready to be a catalyst for better photographs! TOSTI 101 digital photography class begins September 14th and is only $149! Where else can you leap from “How the heck do I use this camera?” to “I rule this thing” in just 3 weeks?
Here’s what some past student’s are saying:
“Tosti’s talent, technique and unique style is a true gift which he shares generously to inspire and teach those of us to pursue our own…..” -Debbie Dodd
“I definitely needed the accountability that Tosti 101 provided. I couldn’t let a week go by without using my camera, and without thinking about how I was using it. Tosti 101 gave me a base from which to grow, and I look forward to being a better photographer because of it” -Mikaela Zach

Check out the shots from our ONE year anniversary celebration! It was really an amazing night for me. I’m so grateful to our clients, the artists that we have worked with showing fine art all year, the community relationships that have been built, thank you! Many thanks to Reza for being the one behind the camera that night! Thanks to Riviera magazine for covering the event, Tutto Amore Gelato, Kik Entertainment for playing some great music, and Ms. Chocolat for the wonderful desserts! This is a quick slide show, enjoy.
